Portraits of Aging

Rembrandt, Paul Cezanne and Chuck close were artists who produced numerous self-portraits throughout their life-times. We will discuss how these self-portraits changed over time to represent images of aging both in style and mood. Wee will also look at some examples of they represented old age in other works of art.
3 Artists of the Harlem Renaissance

Celebrate black History Month by learning about the lives and careers of african American artist Jacob Lawrence, Romaire Bearden and Faith Ringold who told the story of the black experience in America through paintings, collage and fiber art. Each narrated the story of the Harlem Renaissance in the 20’s and 30’s.

All levels and media welcome
No instruction but we will have a short, optional critique following the sessions. Bring your own project or paint from a Still Life setup. An opportunity to meet other artists and create together in a supportive atmosphere.
